HOW BKXVIII CAME ABOUT & BITS ABOUT US

We were Blue Knights England XIV with approximately 45 members. This Chapter encompassed Devon, Cornwall and the Avon & Somerset force area. So, as you can imagine, a vast area. To meet up for a breakfast you could be in Weston-Super-Mare and have to travel to Penzance... a total of 170miles and a 3hr journey.....only to do it again once your food had settled. This discouraged new members from joining.

So, in 2015, one became three chapters with the introduction of Blue Knights England XVII (Kernow) and Blue Knights England XVIII (Devon) and thus increasing the membership to the Blue Knights family from 45 to over 110!! and, extra breakfast locations to visit throughout the month!!

As a Chapter we hold a monthly breakfast meet throughout the year, on the first Saturday of the month, with a ride out, weather depending, on completion. If you cant get there by bike, bring the car...and your partners, as its all about meeting up....and eating!!

For the last four years at the end of March, beginning of April, we have traveled up to Wales for the weekend to ride around the Valleys & Mountains, where we meet up with the Welsh Chapters and other Knights who join us for a fun filled weekend.

Late November, early December, we descend down to Torquay, on the English Riviera where we hold our Christmas getaway weekend.  This comes together on the Saturday Night, where we have a charity Prize draw and Auction in aid of our nominated Charity for the year.

In between these periods there are plenty of meetings to attend throughout the year. A few like to travel abroad to meet our brothers and sisters in Europe, USA & Ireland, but, there is always something going on closer at home if you dont fancy the foreign trips.
